THERE COMES A TIME

There comes a time in the lives of a few people that get to mature beyond normal standards where they start to evaluate their life from a perspective of the kind of people they are, by how much they love and by how pure their heart is.

There comes a time where their mind is only focused on the betterment of it all, where they only pain if they lack love in their hearts; where all people, all creatures, all that exists is perceived as valuable and worthy because they see themselves and it all as part of one living thing, one living entity that we are all part of.

There comes a time where all other concerns become superficial and are seen as distractions from the most important thing of them all: How much they love, how much they care; how much their whole being is immersed in this love and how much they act by this love,

There came a time when these mature, compassionate and loving people changed their life from the seeking of the material, from the seeking of being wanted, from the seeking of recognition, to the love and care of all.

These, sometimes quiet and unpretentious people, in time often become our unofficial priests of the church of kindness. They become ambassadors of the country of joy, and they become warriors of peace.

They, sometimes unwanted and unrecognized by the world, become pillars of sanity in  a world lost in fear, greed and deception. They, sometimes murdered by the "lost in hate", become icons of light in a world of darkness.

Their life and example becomes only understood by those who become fed up with the futile search of the Self in the material world. They become studied by the wisest and are a mystery to those still immature.

These, often ostracized loving beings, the ones who discovered the secret of joy, once recognized become part of the culture which at first rejected and mocked them.

These loving and kind beings, sometimes endured a pain that most of us would consider unbearable. They were capable of doing so because of their love, because their whole being was in love and lived for love. Because their soul was not of this world but it  lived in it as a loving friend and parent.

These beings, these beings can be seen only by those who have eyes to see beauty beyond the physical. They can be seen by those who value a life lived by principle more that a life lived for pleasures.

These beings, these beings, should be held high in our temples of justice and law. They should be studied by those who would become part of our most noble institutions. They should, even if they didn’t consider themselves a good example. They should because they are, were and will be the best of us, the best in us.

Lets recognize them, let's seek to comprehend them, let's protect them, let's become like them. Then and only then, we will fully understand the mystery of their life, their  soul and their actions.

Only then we would find what we always sought but couldn't find. A sense of being grateful for our existence, a perspective of the eternal in the ephemeral, an experience of completeness in living a purposeful life.

Till then, let's work to become like them.
